Alexander Skarsgard joins Adam Wingard’s Godzilla vs Kong

Director Adam Wingard's GODZILLA VS. KONG is really heating up in the casting department. This month we have already passed along the news that Demián Bichir, Millie Bobby Brown, Julian Dennison, and Brian Tyree Henry have joined the upcoming monster mash. And today we have another for the fire. This time Deadline reports that Pennywise's older brother AKA Alexander Skarsgård (HOLD THE DARK) has joined the film as well.

Not much is known about the plot of GODZILLA VS, KONG – other than the fact that the two will be beating the ass off each other – so here's the synopsis for Michael Dougherty's GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS instead:

Members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When this ancient super-species-thought to be mere myths-rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.

Personally, I can't seem to get excited about this casting. Not only does the film already sport a ton of quality actors, but I have yet to be impressed with the older Skarsgard in anything I've seen thus far. In fact, the most charming thing I've ever see the man was in that video of him seeing his little brother Bill in full Pennywise make-up. That was delightful. Simply delightful. If you missed that must-see video, check it out HERE.

My personal thoughts on big brother Skarsgard spat and out of the way, what do you think of this casting? Are you excited to see these two mega-movie monsters battle it out across the big screen? Let us know below! Michael Dougherty's GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS stomps into your local multiplex May 31, 2019, and Adam Wingard's GODZILLA VS KONG is set to hit theaters May 22, 2020.
