Alice filming?

The boys at Bloody-Disgusting caught wind of a nice little rumour that may just in fact lead to something more.

According to a couple of sources, they’ve received word that Universal has begun filming ALICE, the long-delayed adaptation of popular yet flawed video game AMERICAN MCGEE’S ALICE. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Shaun Landers have long been linked to star in the film since last year.

Even moreso, Producer Scott Faye detailed in an interview with Yahoo! earlier in the year that the film would be coming in 2007, which supports the new rumour as well. Marcus Nispel (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE ’03) will direct the film, which picks up after Alice’s second adventure.

Alice’s parents are killed in a fire of which she is the only survivor. Driven catatonic, she is institutionalised in Rutledge Asylum. Years later, Alice is called by the White Rabbit to the aid of a radically altered Wonderland now under the despotic rule of the Red Queen.
