Alita: Battle Angel finds its Kanuba, cyborg to be played by Leonard Wu

As Robert Rodriguez's ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL approaches the front lines of production, they're polishing off the cast with a few more additions. The latest, filling the role of the cyborg Kanuba, is Leonard Wu, a young actor who has appeared in the flicks REVENGE OF THE GREEN DRAGONS and 17 AGAIN, as well as having an 8-episode run on Marco Polo as Orus.

The James Cameron-produced manga adaptation ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL centers on:

a female cyborg that is discovered in a scrap yard by a scientist. With no memory of her previous life except her deadly martial-arts training, the woman becomes a bounty hunter, tracking down criminals.

Rosa Salazar plays the title character, joined in the cast by Jackie Earle Haley, Ed Skrein, Mahershala Ali, Christoph Waltz, Keean Johnson, Eiza González, Lana Condor, and Jorge Lendeborg Jr.

ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL begins filming in Austin, Texas this month.
