All Rise to end after Season 3 on OWN; the premiere date for the final batch of episodes announced

OWN‘s courtroom drama series All Rise is heading toward a permanent recess after receiving an official cancelation notice. The show starring and executive produced by Simone Missick (Luke CageJinnThe Defenders) released cast members in March, thinking a cancelation could be imminent. Thankfully, your ride on the “Lola Coaster” isn’t over yet. The final ten episodes of All Rise begin airing on September 16.

“We are extremely proud of the positive impact All Rise has made in showcasing strong, accomplished Black female characters,” OWN President Tina Perry said. “We are so grateful to all of our creative collaborators and wish to thank the talented cast and crew for their dedication and incredible work on the series.”

Premiering in 2019 on CBS, All Rise looks at the personal and professional lives of the judges, lawyers, clerks, bailiffs, and law enforcement who work at an L.A. County courthouse. The series’ events pick up promptly after a smash-and-grab case, sending the legal system into a whirlwind. Packing the courtroom with drama, All Rise presents issues that mirror real-world concerns and crimes with a splash of comedy.

Missick leads All Rise as Judge Lola Carmichael, dolling out justice alongside an ensemble cast that includes Wilson Bethel, Jessica Camacho, J. Alex Brinson, Ruthie Ann Miles, Lindsay Mendez, Lindsey Gort, and Marg Helgenberger as Judge Lisa Benner. The recurring cast includes Samantha Marie Ware, Paul McCrane, Suzanne Cryer, Roger Guenveur Smith, Christian Keyes, and Ian Anthony Dale.

Dee Harris-Lawrence, Michael M. Robin, and Len Goldstein join Missick in executive producing, with production by Warner Bros. Television.

Before playing Judge Lola Carmichael, audiences could watch Missick kicking ass as Misty Knight in Netflix’s mature-rated Marvel Universe. She played Misty Knight in Marvel‘s Luke CageIron Fist, and The Defenders. Fans looking forward to Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again series hope to see Missick’s character return in the upcoming series, which already features Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. Margarita Levieva, Sandrine Holt, Michael Gaston, and Michael Gandolfini also star.

Production for Daredevil: Born Again is paused because of the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Hopefully, the strike will resolve soon, and we’ll find out if Misty Knight pops up in a surprise guest spot.
