An anthology series based upon the works of Philip K. Dick brought to us by Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica) and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) was commissioned by Channel 4 last year, but now it seems that the series has found a new home as it has been announced that Amazon has picked up the sci-fi anthology series.
Titled Electric Dreams: The World of Philip K. Dick, each episode of the ten-episode anthology series will be a standalone story based on Dick's short stories. The series has long been a passion project for those involved, with Bryan Cranston saying that "this is an electric dream come true. We are so thrilled to be able to explore and expand upon the evergreen themes found in the incredible work of this literary master." The celebrated author's stories have been adapted many times for movies like BLADE RUNNER, TOTAL RECALL and MINORITY REPORT. A writers room has been assembled which is made up of both British and American writers, in addition to Ronald D. Moore, we'll see work from Michael Dinner (Justified), Tony Grisoni (FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS), Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Matthew Graham (Doctor Who), David Farr (The Night Manager), Dee Rees (BESSIE) and Travis Beacham (PACIFIC RIM). As well as serving as executive producer, Bryan Cranston will also star in at least one of the ten episodes.
Amazon already has one Philip K. Dick series under its belt with The Man in the High Castle, so Electric Dreams is already in good company. Which Philip K. Dick stories are you hoping to see adapted?
