DVDActive today posted a trio of specs and artwork for the upcoming Dark Sky Films release of The Amicus Collection, which is made up of thress classic British horror films (all starring the late Peter Cushing): AND NOW THE SCREAMING STARTS!, ASYLUM and THE BEAST MUST DIE. The films will be released separately July 25, with ASYLUM priced at $19.98 and the other two at $14.98 each.
In AND NOW THE SCREAMING STARTS, a young woman named Catherine has just married Charles Fengriffen and has moved into his castle. She soon becomes victim of an old curse that plagues the family, including on her wedding night being raped by a ghost and becoming pregnant. In ASYLUM, a young psychiatrist interviews four inmates in a mental asylum to satisfy a requirement for employment. He hears stories about the revenge of a murdered wife, a tailor who makes a suit with some highly unusual qualities, a woman who questions her sanity when it appears that her brother is conspiring against her, and a man who builds tiny toy robots with lifelike human heads.
Finally, in THE BEAST MUST DIE, a rich businessman and expert hunter summons six guests to his huge country estate which he has rigged up with video cameras and a high-tech security system. He tells them and his surprised wife that they are all to stay over a weekend and that all of them will be kept on the estate during that weekend, as each is suspected of being a werewolf responsible for numerous murders.
