Amy Ryan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Vinnie Jones and 50 Cent join Schwarzenegger and Stallone in The Tomb

The cast for the Stallone/Schwarzenegger prison break action film THE TOMB continues to round out somewhat impressively. In February, we learned that Jim Caviezel (THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST) would be playing the film’s main baddie, that of a warden. Today, Variety reports that Amy Ryan (GONE BABY GONE), Vincent D’Onofrio (“Law & Order: Criminal Intent”), Vinnie Jones (X-MEN: THE LAST STAND), and 50 Cent (ALL THINGS FALL APART) will all be joining the Mikael Hafstrom-directed project.

In the film, Stallone will play ‘Ray Breslin’, an expert on structural security who is framed and put in a high-security prison of his own design. His skills are put to the test as he tries to to find out who put him there. Schwarzenegger, meanwhile, plays ‘Church’, “a complex inmate with multiple shades of grey. He’s the guy who fights to keep the prisoners from losing their humanity in their darkest hour as they struggle together to stay alive.”

According to Variety, Ryan will play “Stallone’s business partner and potential love interest.” D’Onofrio is in talks to play “the deputy director of the Prisons Bureau who convinces Stallone to take one last job before he retires.” And finally, Jones will play “a ruthless guard with no moral compass who enjoys making life difficult for the protag.” Oddly, there’s no mention of 50 Cent’s role, but I’m guessing he’ll play either an inmate or a guard (there aren’t that many options when you think about it).

THE TOMB – budgeted at about $70 million – was last reported to be shooting this spring in Louisiana.
