An evil preacher hunts Dakota Fanning and Kit Harington in Brimstone

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The last time we heard about writer/director Martin Koolhoven's BRIMSTONE, Mia Wasikowska, Robert Pattinson, and Carice van Houten had signed on to co-star in the film with Guy Pearce, who would be playing a character who "unleashes hell". Whether that's literally or figuratively, who can say? The title is BRIMSTONE, after all. (I'd lean toward figurative.)

The movie is now filming, but not all of those cast members have made it on set. Specifically, Mia Wasikowska and Robert Pattinson dropped out somewhere along the way. Confirmed to be replacing them are Dakota Fanning and GAME OF THRONES star Kit Harington.

Harington's character is an outlaw, while Fanning will be playing the heroine Liz,

a young woman running from her past who is being hunted by an evil preacher (Pearce).

And as of "hunted by an evil preacher", they have me sold on this project.

Pearce, Fanning, Harington, and van Houten are joined in the cast by Paul Anderson, Jack Roth, and Carla Juri.

Said to be a "vivid and powerful epic of one woman’s defiant resistance", BRIMSTONE will be shot on location in Romania, Spain, and Germany.
