An urban legend comes to life in The Son of Bigfoot teaser trailer

I don't know about you, but I love the concept of urban legends. Most recently, I've been reading an Image comic book series called Proof written by Alex Grecian with art by Riley Rossmo. In the comic, FBI agent Ginger Brown gets a promotion, but she didn't expect her new duties would involve tracking down the world's most mysterious creatures. Now, The Loch Ness Monster, Mothman and El Chupacabra are among the many mythical beasts who are on her "most wanted" list and her new partner looks an awful lot like… Bigfoot! Yeah, if that's sounds awesome it's because it totally is. I'm about 8 of 28 issues into the series thus far, and every one of them has been excellent.

A few days ago, we received a trailer for a new animated film from StudioCanal called THE SON OF BIGFOOT. The film focuses on a teenage outsider named Adam, who sets out on an epic and daring quest to uncover the mystery behind his long-lost dad, only to find out that he is none other than the legendary Bigfoot! As it turns out, Bigfoot has been hiding deep in the forest for years to protect himself and his family from HairCo., a giant corporation eager to run scientific experiments with his special DNA. As father and son start making up for lost time after the boy’s initial disbelief, Adam soon discovers that he too is gifted with superpowers beyond his imagination. But little do they know, HairCo. is on their tail as Adam’s traces have led them to Bigfoot!

Ha! Who would have known that in addition to being super-elusive all these years that Bigfoot is also capable of wielding supernatural powers as well? Directed by Jeremy Degruson and Ben Stassen with a story penned by Bob Barlen and Cal Brunker, THE SON OF BIGFOOT is currently scheduled for an August 11, 2017 release in the UK. The film will also have theatrical releases through StudioCanal in France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand through August-September. Funnily enough, there's no casting information has appeared on IMDB just yet, so like Adam's father, Bigfoot, much of this film still remains a bit of a mystery to us all.
