Anchor Bay bringing I Spit on Your Grave remake to theaters

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE remake. Alright maybe it’s only been a couple months… but it still feels like there’s nothing going on with this shite! Well worry not folks! There is, in fact, a lot going on with I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anchor Bay have just scored the rights to I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE. Not only did Anchor Bay snag US rights but they’ve also collected rights for Canada, Australia, the U.K. and New Zealand as well! And the kicker? They’re planning on hitting us with the flick via theatrical release later this Fall! Wait… is this good or bad? Did we even want a remake of the classic 1978 film? Well damn…

Whether this remake is wanted or not, it’s happening. It’s coming from CineTel Films and director Steven R. Monroe with plans to hit DVD in early 2011 after it’s targeted theatrical run. The Reporter doesn’t state if the release will be wide, limited or somewhere in between. Is there an in between? Anyway here are the details!

I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE tells the story of a city girl who rents an isolated cabin in the country to write a novel. The victim of an assault and rape, she seeks vengeance on her attackers. It stars Sarah Butler (below) along with Daniel Franzese, Chad Lindberg, Rodney Eastman and Andrew Howard.

So there you have it. Perhaps this news will stir up a lot more I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE updates. How about some stills? A poster? Dare I request a trailer? Hopefully we get something soon! As always be sure to keep it here for more as we hear it!
