Anderson tackles Dead

Mania.com just got the exclusive word that Brad Anderson (SESSION 9, THE MACHINIST) has signed on to write and direct THE LIVING AND THE DEAD, which is based on the Robert Tinnell and Todd Livingston graphic novel.

The story – which apparently began as a screenplay before being converted into graphic novel form – focuses on a monstrous character who engages in the nineteenth-century version of snuff theater, luring innocent people in a Grand Guignol of flesh and blood.

I love that idea. Instead of a snuff film, you’ve got snuff theater. Hope this madman can tell a story at least….

Anderson will presumably tackle this after he’s done with the Hayden Christensen-Thandie Newton (pictured below) thriller VANISHING ON 7TH STREET.
