Andrew Divoff to star in Night of the Living Dead 3D: Resurrection prequel

You guys remember NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 3D, the lame remake of George A. Romero’s classic from 2006? I don’t blame you if you don’t, as the only memorable thing about the flick was Sid Haig’s involvement. Well, the movie is getting a prequel entitled NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 3D: RESURRECTION.

Following in the trend of scoring a good genre lead, Dimensional Dead Productions has tapped Andrew Divoff (WISHMASTER, “Lost”) to star in the prequel. He will play a mortician named Gerald Tovar, Jr. – the role originated by Haig – who is the one responsible for bringing the dead back to life. Here is the synopsis:

Pyrophobic mortician Gerald Tovar, Jr. inherits the family mortuary and accidentally lets hundreds of uncremated bodies become exposed to toxic medical waste. As the corpses re-animate, Harold Tovar, the mortician’s inheritance-seeking younger brother, expectantly shows up, stumbling upon a full outbreak of the walking dead.
