Just when you thought it was safe to escape to your own deserted island in the hope of establishing a paradise away from pandemics and other problems plaguing the world, a creator by the name of Evil Imp over at WK Game has debuted a horror-themed trailer for Animal Crossing: New Horizons that'll have you booking a seat on the next flight aboard Dodo Airlines.
If you are one of the cool kids, chances are you have been playing Nintendo's smash hit game since social distancing began. After a month of gameplay — or over 275 hours in my case — some gamers may be getting bored with the dynamics of the game. Well, if this horror mod were actually available, imagine the possibilities!
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players assume the role of Resident Representative for their own deserted island paradise in the middle of nowhere. As you continue to add items that spark joy all across your island, animals arrive in droves to live alongside you, creating a series of unforgettable interactions that'll melt your heart as well as keep you in stitches as time continues to melt away. Having put over 275 hours into the game myself, I can speak to the game's quality, and can assure you that much of what you see in the above trailer was created using a myriad of carefully-placed in-game items. That being said, the execution here by Evil Imp and his team is nothing short of incredible, and I'd give anything for a tour of that terrifying island.
