Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches: Alexandra Daddario’s new AMC+ show releases trailer

Spooky season is officially upon us. Fans of horror novels will be happy with the upcoming phase of adaptations due to hit television and streaming services in the next few years. The popular Anne Rice novel, Interview with the Vampire recently premiered a TV adaptation on AMC. Now, Deadline has the skinny on the next television series from the famed writer coming to screens near you as the trailer for the new project drops online. AMC+ is due to exclusively stream the supernatural show, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, coming this January.

The 8-episode series will be starring Alexandra Daddario, known from HBO series The White Lotus and True Detective, as Dr. Rowan Fielding, an intuitive young neurosurgeon who has found out that she is, in fact, an heir to a family of witches. She discovers she has inherited their powers and struggles to come to terms with this newly revealed birthright. She also comes to grips with an evil entity that has been haunting her family generation after generation.

The show will be based on the best-selling trilogy, Lives of the Mayfair Witches, and is set to co-star Harry Hamlin, Jack Huston, and Tongayi Chirisa. The series will be written and executive produced by Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford, known from Masters of Sex and On Becoming a God in Central Florida. Mark Johnson, the producer of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, will be overseeing the development of the entire Anne Rice collection for television and streaming services.

Whereas the show Interview with the Vampire airs on AMC, Anne Rice’s Wayfair Witches will be streaming exclusively on the channel’s premium AMC+ service. The show is set to premiere the first two episodes on January 5 of next year. Then, the next episodes are set to premiere each of the following weeks.
