Another clip from Cortes’ Buried, Reynolds still squirming in a pine box

Seeing the dude married to Scarlett Johansson en route to being worm food makes me a happy boy!

Hopefully it does you as well, as you can enjoy that very sight in the clip we have below from Rodrigo Cortes’ one-man, one-location suspense flick BURIED, set to screen this week at Sundance.

No doubt looking to torture the audience as much as Reynolds’ character, Cortes uses dizzying camera techniques here to mirror the frazzled, discombobulated emotions of a death ensnared U.S. contractor. If the flick really does take place entirely in a crypt, you can already see the various angles Cortes employs to keep the material from getting stale. Of course, seeing Reynolds plead for his life six feet deep can never get stale. Ever.

Chris Sparling writes, with Robert Patterson, Jose Luis Garcia Perez, Stephen Tobolowski, Samantha Mathis, Warner Loughlin, Ivana Mino, Erik Palladino, Joe Guarneri, Anne Lockhart and Jose Maria Yazpik rounding out the cast.

Synopsis: Paul is a U.S. contractor working in Iraq. After an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin. With only a lighter and a cell phone it’s a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap.

BURIED premieres at Sundance on Saturday, Jan. 23rd.
