With all the positive feedback the first flick got, it’s no surprise a sequel has been in the works. B-D scored some info on the flick. Firstly, everything IMDB has listed, throw that right out the window.
Apparently James Watkins is the man behind the script, not the great Neil Marshall. Along with that little tidbit, they report that the plot will go a little something like this:
Shauna Macdonald’s character of Sarah returns as a rescue crew finds her and takes her back into the cave to find survivors – where terror ensues once again, which involves ‘little’ cave monsters.
Apparently Lionsgate may have no part of this one too, with Pathe looking around for potential distribution. Interesting stuff. THE DESCENT was a great ride, with hot chicks (like Natalie Martinez below) and little creepy monsters. Anytime we have hot chicks kicking ass is A Ok in my book. But that plot sounds a little… bad. Why in the world would this woman go back to the cave?
