Another Judge Dredd

Back in 1995, Sylvester Stallone busted on the scene in an entertaining comic adaptation titled JUDGE DREDD… or at least I thought it was entertaining. Most people thought it was 100% certifiable crap, thus destroying any chance of there being a JUDGE DREDD franchise.

Here we are, some 13 years later, and it appears that DREDD is not dead in the water. According to 2000 AD, the comic company behind the source material, a new JUDGE DREDD is in the works, this time in association with DNA Films, the company that brought us 28 WEEKS LATER and SUNSHINE!

The hope is, at this point, that the film goes in to production sometime next year, though no director or stars have been attached as of yet. Sure, it could all be bullshit, but as it’s coming from Jason Kingsley, CEO and Creative Director of 2000 AD, I’m thinking this is the real deal… we might actually get to see DREDD on the big screen yet again.

So the big question now is… who will play DREDD? Jason Statham? Vin Diesel? Michael Crena? What do you think???
