Apparently Andrew Howard is the latest name to join Friel and company in Neil Burger’s film. Who is Andrew Howard? Well we’ve seen the guy in a lot of random stuff including THE DEVIL’S CHAIR, BLOOD RIVER and HELLHOUNDS, among other titles. As far as what he’ll be doing in THE DARK FIELDS, all we know right now is that he’ll be playing the villain ‘Gennady.’
Howard (above) joins Friel (below), Bradley Cooper, Robert DeNiro, Abbie Cornish, and Tomas Arana in THE DARK FIELDS, which is based on the book by Alan Glynn.
[The film] follows a down-and-out writer (Cooper) who gets his hands on a top-secret pharmaceutical drug that makes one smarter. He experiences sudden financial and social success but soon discovers that the drug has lethal and lasting side effects. Before long, mysterious antagonists are pursuing him.
Now I had to double check at least a few different times that THE DARK FIELDS was the right project that Howard was doing and not Ami Canaan Mann’s THE FIELDS. Man it’s going to be a b*tch telling those two apart. Anyway THE DARK FIELDS already has a release date pegged for March 18, 2011 so be sure to keep it here for more as we hear it!
