Anthony Stewart Head thinks Buffy reboot is a “horrible idea”

Back in January, Nicholas “Xander” Brendon came out with his opinion of the Buffy reboot being planned by Warner Bros., calling it a “mistake.” Now another former castmember is coming out against the retooling of Buffy, only this time the opinion is a little harsher.

Our pal Jenna Busch caught up with, Anthony Stewart Head, the one-time Rupert Giles, and asked his thoughts on the Buffy reboot. Here’s what he said:

“It’s a horrible idea. It’s a horrible idea in as much as Buffy was a great conceit. It was a great story. A great idea. I don’t think you can…whether you feel as though you helped it on its way, I don’t feel that you can then remake that without the original creator on board. It doesn’t make sense. And I mean, somewhere down the line, I suppose sometimes…I suppose you could, but it never sits very comfortably. With someone like Joss, why would you want to? Well, I know why you want to. You want to make money. As he said recently, ‘I hope it’s good!’ [laughs] I love him.” M

Basically, in his charmingly British way, Head is saying the reboot is bullshit and everyone involved with it is a money-hungry whoredemon… Cheeky!
