Brotha of a diff’rent mutha Ammon checked in earlier in the week with news of Tartan’s aquisition of TAXIDERMIA, which may be one of the few films to feature a guy shooting fire out of his dick. Today, Tartan gives us a heads-up on another gold nugget they aquired from across the pond: German director Christian Alvert’s ANTIBODIES, and boy, is this one a looker.
Starring Wotan Wilke Möhring and André Hennicke, the film centres on pedophile and serial killer Gabriel Engel (Hennicke), who after a bloody showdown with police is captured and held for crimes involving him having sex with children, killing them and using the blood of his victims to paint surreal religious paintings. Policeman Michael Martens (Möhring) travels to Berlin where Engel is held to get answers regarding the disappearance of a young teenage girl from Martens’ village. What happens next has Martens’ worst nightmare coming true, as the killer’s mindgames turn his world upside down.
Needless to say, this isn’t one film you’d want to bring your parents to. The film enjoyed success at various festivals the world over, and now Tartan has it set for a full UK release this Friday. No word on when it hits the US (although it did make a showing at last year’s AFI Film Festival), but we lucky (?!) Canadian horror schmoes get a limited release early next year. To find out more about the film, you can head over to it’s official site here.
