Apparently Batman V Superman is Man Of Steel 2

There have been far too many rumors about MAN OF STEEL 2 in recent weeks than there probably should be. There is a ton of BS about what characters might be in it, what story it could tell, who might be directing it, and all of that is churning about while the larger question remains – Is Warner Bros. even ready to make it? A straight-forward sequel to MAN OF SEQUEL was shoved to the backburner the second the first film was divisive and didn’t exactly set the box office on fire in the way the studio had hoped. They wanted a $1 billion movie notch in their belt, and they didn’t get. Then they throw Batman into the next chapter as they build out the DC Cinematic Universe and Superman starts feeling like an afterthought.

But they have to give Clark Kent a shot at redemption at some point, right? Superman, as iconic as he is, can’t just be a tag-along for the rest of his cinematic life one would think, no?

Well, in a recent interview while promoting his Doritos commercial contest, this nugget from Zack Snyder seems to have fallen through the cracks until skilled archaeologists dug it up, laying out exactly when you might get to see MAN OF STEEL 2.

I think in a way BATMAN V SUPERMAN is MAN OF STEEL 2. JUSTICE LEAGUE is kind of the transcendent, knights-of-the-round-table of the story. It’d be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be.

I don’t know that it’s interesting at all to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be. We already got one from Snyder, so we know what it’d be. Has he somehow forgotten like plenty others already? It also sounds like there is no vision for Superman’s own path moving ahead as he’ll simply be another one of the boys as we get more Aquaman, more Flash, more Cyborg and the like. It really is a damn shame no one seems to be able to crack what a good Superman movie might entail, and that doesn’t appear to be something Warner Bros. is ready to take another shot at anytime soon.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE apparently gives Superman the sequel we didn’t know was his sequel on March 25, 2016.
