Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: Jason Momoa teases possibility of “even more Batmans” in the movie

Jason Momoa recently spoke with the Associated Press on the red carpet for the recent premiere of his AppleTV+ show, See, where he was asked about the upcoming sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. This latest entry for the DC hero had already wrapped principal photography but recently had its reshoots. Momoa teased the return of Affleck’s Batman when the Aquaman star posted a photo of a reunion between the two on Instagram, although no official news has been released.

In the interview, Momoa was very cryptic in saying that he can’t say anything about the reunion and even dropped tiny nuggets of the possibility of “even more Batmans” in the sequel.

It’s obvious his response is in jest and should be taken with a grain of salt. However, The Flash is already known to be bringing in multiverse characters into crossover events, with Barry Allen meeting multiple versions of himself and the anticipated return of the 1989 Tim Burton Batman played by Michael Keaton. Affleck has more or less left the role, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he can’t make cameo appearances, and since Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was only in reshoots, clearly, he’s not meant to play a big role, if any.

Warner Bros is currently juggling three, count ‘em, three live-action cinematic incarnations of the famous DC superhero. When the studio attempted to start their own shared universe with the DCEU, they established Ben Affleck as an older, weathered version of the caped crusader. They also established a new franchise with its own continuity in the early years of the dark knight with Robert Pattinson and, of course, the return of a multiverse version with Michael Keaton stepping back in the role.

See can currently be streamed on AppleTV+. Meanwhile, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to release on December 25, 2023.

What do you think? Will he make an appearance?
