Are these the subjects and release dates of the three Star Wars spin-offs?

It has been known for quite some time that after STAR WARS: EPISODE VII we would be getting standalone films for other characters within the STAR WARS universe. Honchos over at Lucasfilm and Disney promised a new STAR WARS film every year beginning in 2015, which means production on the first spin-off should begin soon. Our sources stated a while back that the first two spin-offs would focus on Boba Fett and Han Solo while other rumors suggested Obi-wan Kenobi and Yoda could get their own movies as well.

Now, it looks like the outline for the next five years is coming together. A fan who attended a presention put on by Hasbro told German site Star Wars Union that this is the plan for STAR WARS through the year 2020.

Fall 2014: Rebels
2015: Episode VII
2016: Boba Fett
2017: Episode VIII
2018: Solo
2019: Episode IX
2020: Red Five

This makes sense since Harrison Ford is supposedly a major character in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. With the focus on Solo in 2015, the following year can be all about Boba Fett while Solo’s origin can be recounted after EPISODE VIII. That way, whether Ford remains in the entire trilogy or not, he would still be able to appear/star in a standalone adventure.

The news here though is around the final projected film, RED FIVE. As you may know, that was Luke Skywalker’s callsign during the Battle of Yavin. Could this be a spin-off focused on X-Wing pilots or other members of the Rebel Alliance? Seeing as this listing shows REBELS as a project in 2014, RED FIVE could be another animated series and not a feature film. But, I will hold out hope that we may be getting a live action, Rebel pilot movie.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII hits theaters on December 18, 2015.
