Hold the presses ladies and gents, that stupid GOVERNATOR cartoon may not be the only project in the works for Arnold Schwarzenegger!
Per a Filmweb article, who in turn cites a Polish distributor handling I SAW THE DEVIL director Kim Jee-woon’s new film LAST STAND, good ol’ Arnie has signed on to play a sheriff in the action-thriller. Now that’s more like it!
Said to have replaced Liam Neeson in LAST STAND, Arnie’s potential live-action return is touted as a cross between HIGH NOON and GONE IN SIXTY SECONDS.
The story will follow the exploits of a drug cartel leader who blasts his way out of a courtroom, steals a car, and heads towards the Mexican border. Arnold Schwarzenegger will play a sheriff with an inexperienced staff who becomes involved with trying to stop the cartel leader from entering Mexico after the two parties inadvertently cross paths.
As of now, no confirmation has been made on this development, but let’s just rave with enough excitement about the prospect that Arnie is forced to officially sign on. And soon! Expect confirmation one way or the other shortly!
