Pet Sematary remake finally gets a writer
“My problem with the original movie is that it lacked all of the depth and mystery that was in the novel. I suppose that’s just an inherent obstacle when shifting to a different medium, but it really ruined Pet Semetary. There wasn’t enough character development, and the movie didn’t capture the horrifying nature of the pet cemetery, such as the way it was seemingly able to influence events so that people would learn about it and then experience the loss of a loved one (and thus be compelled to use the cemetery). The film also didn’t do any justice to just how terrifying the reanimated corpses were in the novel. “

“ Are you kidding? come on! It’s the original! I thought the remake was quite good but there wasn’t any need for it because the original is great and has stayed mainstream all of these years. The remake is one of the better remakes we will see within the years but it doesn’t come into the same spectrum that the orignal has created.“
The Strangers
“I re-watched this movie last night and decided that I did really like it. Upon that realization i decided to go look and see what the general consensus was, and stumbled upon the rotten tomatoes reviews of the movie; the vast majority of which were negative holding only a 44%. Ebert said: “The movie deserves more stars for its bottom-line craft, but all the craft in the world can’t redeem its story.” I disagree I think the story was pretty decent, it’s not particularly original but it was entertaining .
