AROUND THE CAMPFIRE: Rosemary’s Baby, Crazies & Elm Street Legacy!

Welcome to AROUND THE CAMPFIRE, a weekly column that takes a gander at what the horror fans around our virtual campfire (i.e.  the ARROW IN THE HEAD HORROR FORUMS) are yapping about before they get whacked…  or before they do the nasty and THEN get whacked. Check out excerpts of the latest chi-chats going down below and  CLICK THE PICS to hit each respective forum thread!

Rosemary’s Baby!

I thought it was a really lame overrated piece of crap. But seeing it again a month ago something sort of clicked in my mind like a switch and now I really really love it. The score, the direction, the acting, the pacing, the climax, it’s all so ingenious and brilliant.

Never Sleep Again: Elm Street Legacy

I love documentaries on, well pretty much anything, but particularly on movies. The Halloween retrospective was an impressive production and while the F13 one wasn’t quite as slick or professional looking, the love for the movies shone through (although having read the superb Crystal Lake Memories there was little new information for the rabid fan) and I was happy with it. I have high hopes for the Elm Street doc.”

George Romero’s The Crazies!

“I had too many problems with this movie to ever buy it for more than a couple of bucks. First of all, it’s really, really boring after about an hour. The message has been spoken and there’s not much else to say but the movie keeps going. Day of the dead is a far better film dealing with Romero’s contempt of the military. The Crazies was just too empty.”
