The CW’s fan favorite series ARROW returns next month for a third season, one that promises more action than ever. On top of guest stars like Brandon Routh, ARROW will feature the debut of Ra’s Al Ghul this year. Liam Neeson indicated he would be open to return but we now know for certain who will be heading the League of Shadows in DC’s small screen universe.

ARROW star Stephen Amell tweeted today that RIDDICK actor Matt Nable will take on the role of the Green Arrow and Batman nemesis. Nable is not as recognizable a name as Liam Neeson, but expect him to be quite the adversary this year.

A new trailer for the third season also premiered giving us a new look at some of the characters, including Routh, in action. The tone seems decidedly lighter this year with Amell delivering some more funny lines than usual. We also get some glimpses of Peter Stormare and Colton Haynes in his Speedy attire.

ARROW premieres on October 8th on The CW. JoBlo.com will be bringing you recaps of the first and second seasons as well as weekly reviews for all new episodes.
