Arrow Video is bringing C.H.U.D. to Blu-ray in the U.S.

Recently we learned that Lionsgate will be bringing C.H.U.D. II: BUD THE CHUD to Blu-ray as part of their Vestron Video Collector's Series, and while we wait to hear the details of that release Arrow Video has made an announcement that is good news for C.H.U.D. fans in the United States – when you're enjoying a C.H.U.D. double feature after picking up the C.H.U.D. II Vestron Blu, you won't need to switch formats between movies.

Director Douglas Cheek's 1984 cult classic C.H.U.D. will be making its Blu-ray debut via Arrow Video on November 15th.

Starring John Heard, Daniel Stern, Christopher Curry, and Kim Griest, with an appearance by John Goodman, C.H.U.D. is described as "the ultimate underground movie experience."

In downtown Manhattan, a police captain’s hunt for his missing wife leads to the discovery of a series of mysterious disappearances in the area. Extending his search into the tunnels and sewers below the city streets, it soon becomes clear that something monstrous is lurking in that subterranean world – and it won’t stay there much longer…

The contents of the special edition Arrow has assembled:

– Brand new restoration from original film elements

– High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) presentation

– Original Uncompressed Mono PCM audio

– Optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing

C.H.U.D. is the only U.S.-exclusive Blu-ray release Arrow has scheduled for November, but it's not the only cool-sounding horror release they have set to come out that month. There are also special editions of THE DRILLER KILLER and THE INITIATION that will be released in both the U.S. and the U.K., and a U.K.-only release of HOWLING II.
