Cinematical recently opened a fortune cookie which told them today would be the greatest day of their lives. Sure enough, as promised, they got a chance to talk to Angelina Jolie at a press junket. While in the presence of unmatched beauty, they slipped her all the usual pick-up lines, such as ‘Do you know what would look good on you? Me’ and ‘Hey baby, what’s the status of your upcoming movie, ATLAS SHRUGGED? PS I love you’. Jolie ignored the former, but had the following to say about the latter:
“…the thing with Atlas is just, we all feel that it’s one of those projects where if you can’t do it right, you really can’t touch it. So we have not had all the pieces come together. There’s not been a director that’s right to come on, or all of those elements. So until it does, you know, I certainly don’t want to be a part of something that’s just put together to hit ‘this date.”
If only more people felt that way. ATLAS SHRUGGED is a classic piece of philosophical literature and if you think Spidey geeks are militant when Sam Raimi f*cks with Venom, I’d wager that Ayn Rand fanatics would be slightly more peeved, and infinitely more articulate in their abuse if someone failed to do ATLAS justice.
