Attack at Ghost House

Sam Raimi and his horror production company Ghost House just signed Uruguayan commercial director Fede Alvarez to potentially direct a bigger budgeted version of his short film “ATAQUE DE PANICO!” (PANIC ATTACK). The deal is pretty damn impressive considering Alvarez spent $500 on the 4 minute film, which hit it big on the Internet when Kanye West of all people posted a link to the film on his blog.

The rest, as they say, is history. The short film was so impressive that every studio out there wanted to land the 30 year old (check out our earlier story on this this HERE), but none other than the great Sam Raimi and Ghost House was able to seal the deal.

Now Alvarez gets to hang tight while Ghost House quickly finds a writer to bring the 4 minute PANIC ATTACK! to a filmable full-length feature. Once a script is done, Ghost House will then decide whether they’ll move forward with making the film or passing it along to someone else. In other words, Alvarez is getting paid to sit around while Ghost House decides whether to make the film or not.

I’m sure the chances are good the film will be made considering Ghost House’s investment into the deal thus far, and also because Raimi seems pretty excited to be mentoring Alvarez on the project, in a role similar to Peter Jackson and his mentoring of Neill Blomkamp for DISTRICT 9.

In the mean time, you can check out the impressive PANIC ATTACK! below to see what the hype is all about, then keep it here as we wait to find out whether Ghost House decides whether to move forward with the making the film or not.
