AVP franchise dead?

After two lackluster attempts at combining the ALIEN franchise with the PREDATOR franchise, it looks like the AVP franchise is dead in the water… at least, according to producer John Davis.

Collider had a chance to chat with Davis over the weekend, and while AVP might be dead, it looks like the PREDATOR franchise might still have some life left in it. Check it out: I think we’ve logically done what we could’ve done with the two AVP movies. But I think there’s something to go back to with Predator… the Governor has mentioned to me that when he ceases to be Governor, if he doesn’t run for the Senate and all of that stuff, he’d like to do a movie or two again. And I don’t know, maybe we could restart the Predator franchise.

Whoa–hold the presses! Not only is he thinking of another PREDATOR movie, but he’s thinking of bring Dutch back? Talk about awesome! As we saw with PREDATOR 2, the franchise needs Scwharzenegger to make it ‘work,’ so if by some miracle Arnold decides to come back as Dutch, then I say bring it on! Even if he is a lot older than he used to be!

Of course, this is just some prodcer running his mouth, and could be nowhere near the truth… but you never know! To check out the full interview, click HERE, and stick around as we wait to hear whether what he says is legit or totally bogus.
