“I’m so happy Ronnie from ‘Jersey Shore’ was unavailable and this exciting opportunity was able to come my way,” said the comic in a statement to MTV.
Ansari, no stranger to the “music” network, was last seen briefly in a STAR TREK spoof during last year’s MTV Movie Awards (video of which you can check out below). He, along with collaborators Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer, were also responsible for the network’s criminally under-seen “Human Giant” before it went off the air after only two seasons.
“Parks and Recreation” on the other hand will be going beyond two seasons, as Ansari just recently signed on for another. He’ll next be seen on the big screen in GET HIM TO THE GREEK and possibly later in Ruben Fleischer’s 30 MINUTES OR LESS opposite Danny McBride.
