Bad Butterfly

First off, I’d just like to precede this article by wishing all our faithful AITH readers a very happy f*ckin’ Labor Day. And while reading this article, I hope you have a beer, a burger, or both in your hands! Okay, on to the horror:

I just came across one damn fine sounding piece of cinematic fright. It’s called BUTTERFLY, and no, it has nothing to do with that poor Ashton-Kutcher-traveling-through-time piece of shite. Hardly, this one seems to be loaded with a compellingly sick wit. Take a peek at the plot:

Nick Cole is a straight-to-video horror director who is kidnapped by, Laney, an over zealous fan, determined to impress him with her own film project. The situation goes from bad to worse when Cole realizes that the murders in Laney’s film are real, and that the victims are all people from his own dark past.

I’m just a big fan of self-referential horror, especially when it’s delivered in some sort of demented fashion. Hopefully, BUTTERFLY will come out of its “filming cocoon” with bright, bloody wings. I apologize for the ridiculously lame metaphor. It’s either the burger or the beer talking. Anyways, the flick was written and director by Edward Romero (no relation) and will start shooting in L.A. later this year.

Erica Durance is too famous and hot to have starred
in BUTTERFLY EFFECT 2.
