Insiders are apparently claiming that Christian Bale has attached himself to PRISONERS, alongside Mark Wahlberg. Bryan Singer is also rumored to be circling. The film will revolve around a Bible-reading, deer-hunting survivalist whose daughter is kidnapped. He butts heads with a young, brash detective in charge of the investigation, who can’t wait to get to the big city. Eventually, feeling failed by the law, the father takes things into his own hands.
When is “child kidnapped, man takes law into own hands” gonna become a movie genre? Although, I should probably stop since if Bale likes it and Singer likes it, it’s probably got something fresh and I don’t want to put my foot in my mouth. There are loads of things I’d rather put in my mouth. For example, a sandwich.
