Quick, someone needs to get Lance Reddick fitted for a pair of ballet shoes! Why? Because he’s joining the cast of the John Wick spinoff, Ballerina. Lionsgate has closed a deal for Reddick to reprise his role as Charon for the forthcoming spinoff starring Ana de Armas. Production for Ballerina is already underway, with Len Wiseman (UnderworldTotal RecallLive Free or Die Hard) directing from a script by Shay Hatten (Army of the DeadDay ShiftJohn Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum).

“Charon is an indispensable part of the world of Wick. It’s great to know that Lance will continue to make his mark on this franchise,” said producer Erica Lee.

Keanu Reeves (John Wick), Ian McShane (Winston), and Anjelica Huston (The Director) also receive top billing in the film, which focuses on a young woman (Ana de Armas) with killer skills who sets out for revenge when assassins kill her family.

Last month, Lee told The Hollywood Reporter, “The idea of Ballerina was formed around the scenes with Anjelica in John Wick 3. Anjelica Huston is an icon and is nothing less than Hollywood royalty. The world of Wick is always made richer by her commanding screen presence.”

Huston’s character is the head of the Ruska Roma, a crime organization with a profound understanding of The High Table. Presented as a mother-type figure for would-be killers, The Director is ruthless, unmoving, and commands killers with a wave of her bejeweled hand.

Reddick’s Charon is a star player in the John Wick franchise. Charon appears in all four chapters of the John Wick saga and acts as an overseer and confidant to guests of The Continental, a lavish hotel for assassins. In addition to tending to his guests, Charon will defend the hallowed halls of The Continental to his dying breath.

Are you excited about Lance Reddick joining the cast of Len Wiseman’s Ballerina? Who else do you hope makes an appearance in the John Wick spinoff? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
