Could BASEMENT JACK be the next Leslie Vernon? From the story over at Fangoria it seems like it just might be. Firstly, the titular character looks pretty damn badass! (the pic above) The setting, the mask, the blade, it’s all perfect for a decent horror movie slasher.
BASEMENT JACK just started filming this past week. The filmmakers are so excited and proud of the film that they’ve already released a few stills (found above and below.). It’s about a man named Jack—who suffered childhood abuse from his mother, played by [Lynn] Lowry in flashbacks—gets out of an asylum and begins haunting the cellars of unsuspecting families, who soon fall victim to his big blade.
Ladies and gentlemen, I am sold! The movie is being directed by Michael Shelton and was written by Brian Patrick O’Toole. It stars Michele Morrow, Samuel Skoryna, Steve Felty, Joel Weiss, Kyle Sanders and Joel Brooks, Billy Morrison, Noel G, Nathan Bexton, a couple horror scream queens in Tiffany Shepis (below) and Lynn Lowry, and Eric Peter-Kaiser as the man himself.
“The first time I knew we were making something wild,” says Shelton, “was when Eric came onto set in full costume, and the crew literally backed away. It was such a complete transformation. Then, of course, everyone wanted a picture with him. I believe he’s an icon in the making.”
BASEMENT JACK started filming this week and is set to wrap at the end of the month. I’ll be waiting eagerly for this one to hit the mainstream. For a little more info, just click the picture above or click here.
