Batman 3 tidbit

No, that’s not a real teaser poster up there, but a crafty fan-made one (I dig the tattoos on the hands), obviously suggesting that THE RIDDLER should be the next villain to go head-to-head with ol’ Batman. I say it’s a tough call. Riddler seems a little silly to me, but then again, this is now Chris Nolan’s world, and he doesn’t ply his trade in “silly”. I do know that I don’t want to see Catwoman or Mr. Freeze invade Gotham any time soon. The Penguin? Well, if Nolan keeps it real (as the kids like to say), the Penguin could be one seriously freaky character…

All that said, anyone doubting, for even a millisecond, that there will be a third BATMAN movie is completely out of their friggin’ minds. You don’t have two movies make $670 million domestic without giving them a third sibling, although if you believe Warner Bros. chief Alan Horn, they haven’t really talked about it yet. Yeah, okay…

“We have no idea where Chris is going with this,” Horn says in a Variety article. “We haven’t had any conversations with him about it.”

The same article points out that there’s a deal for the director to helm a third pic, but he has yet to decide on whether to tackle it yet. All I can say is he had BEST decide on tackling it, unless he wants a fanboy uprising on his hands the likes of which only Jesus could put an end to (and J.C.’s a Batman fan, too). For the record, I’m in that small camp that enjoyed the movie without thinking it was the greatest cinematic experience of all time… I’m nuts like that.

And here’s a nice treat for all you DARK KNIGHT fanatics. Our brothers over at JoBlo.com have just tossed up the screenplay for the flick. Check it out HERE.

If Nolan does decide to go with Catwoman, he’ll have his hands full trying to top this…
