Battlestar Galactica’s Ron Moore wants to bring A Knight’s Tale to the small screen

I don’t know how many people will be with me on this one, but I loved 2001’s A KNIGHT’S TALE. It boasted a great cast including Heath Ledger, Shannyn Sossamon, Mark Addy, Paul Bettany, Rufus Sewell, Alan Tudyk and Laura Fraser. Plus, the script was fun. When I see it on basic cable, I watch it. Bettany as Chaucer is one of my favorite things ever. When I first saw him in that film I go, “This dude is good. He’s going to be big.” But then again, everyone in it was awesome.

In an interesting turn of events, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s Ron Moore will adapt the film into a small screen series for ABC. The original film written by Brian Helgeland (MAN OF FIRE, ROBIN HOOD) follows William Thatcher (Ledger), “after his master dies, a peasant squire, fueled by his desire for food and glory, creates a new identity for himself as a knight.” It’s said that the series is expected to, “stay close to the premise and the style of the movie — it is described as a medieval fantasy incorporating modern music and themes that follows the journey of a young man who starts out impersonating a knight of the realm and ends up becoming one.” Moore will also have a producing credit alongside Helgeland.

I’m definitely open to checking it out on TV. Check out the trailer below to refresh your memories.
