The CW renews Batwoman, Walker, The Flash, Riverdale & more

The CW was handing out renewals like candy today as they announced that they would be renewing twelve of their shows, including Walker (season two), Batwoman (season three), The Flash (season 8), DC's Legends of Tomorrow (season 7), Riverdale (season 6), All-American (season 4), Charmed (season 4), Nancy Drew (season three), Legacies (season four), Dynasty (season five), In the Dark (season four), and Roswell, New Mexico (season four). Can The CW renew my lust for life as well?

In addition to these renewals, The CW has also ordered five more episodes for the first season of Walker, bringing the total to eighteen episodes, as well as two more episodes for Superman & Lois, which will now consist of fifteen episodes. In a statement, The CW president Mark Pedowitz said, "Though we're just a few weeks into the new season, we wanted to get a strategic head start on next season with these early renewals, which allows our production teams to start laying out story arcs and hiring staff, and at the same time, continues to provide us with a strong, stable schedule to build on for next season. As The CW's 2020-2021 season kicks into high gear, we are thrilled creatively with the direction of our first new shows out of the gate, Walker and Superman & Lois, that we wanted to order the additional episodes to complete their first seasons, and we are particularly pleased with the huge success of the launch of Walker, which debuted as our most watched series premiere in 5 years." Speaking of Walker, the show already includes a couple of Supernatural guest-stars (Genevieve Padalecki and Mitch Pileggi) joining Jared Padalecki in the series, and the star told TVLine that he's hoping his Supernatural co-star Jared Jensen might make an appearance down the road as well.

I cannot wait for Jensen to be on the show! He’s doing The Boys right now with [Eric] Kripke in Toronto, so he’s not even in the same country. But one of these days, he’ll have to come on and be my bow-legged friend. We’ll put him on horseback and give him a cowboy hat.

As CW president Mark Pedowitz stated above, the premiere of Walker was the network's most-watched premiere in five years, so it's not exactly a huge surprise that they've ordered more episodes and given the series an early renewal. Bring on fifteen seasons of roundhouse kicks.
