Fans of Italian horror will be glad to know that Lamberto Bava – son of infamous director Mario Bava, as well as director of the infamous in its own right DEMONS – is still working hard to scare the sauce out of you. His next project, he tells Fangoria, is entitled ROOM 213.
“It’s a psychological thriller about a girl who is studying a serial killer. The killer is still alive, but he has been in a coma for six years. However, someone starts to kill again in the same style as him—but is it just a copycat or could it be something else? It is very strong—very bloody.”
Perhaps even cooler news is that Bava is collaborating with Ruggero Deodato (who directed a sorta infamous lil film as well) on MASTERS OF ITALIAN HORROR – which I’m guessing is like MASTERS OF HORROR, only with good wine and sexy accents. Bava says the stories are being written now.
How sweet is that? I’m guessing Dario Argento will also be involved since he directed two of the crazier entries of the English version (anyone who has seen “Jenifer” is forever scarred by it, I’m positive) – not to mention the fact that he co-wrote the screenplay for DEMONS.
Speaking of sexy – Italian babe Anna Falchi (Cemetary Man)
