Two weeks ago Mr. Boston himself guided us toward a short ad and teaser trailer for the WWII zombie flick WAR OF THE DEAD (AKA STONE’S WAR). You remember that shite?
Don’t fret if not, because we’ve got a pretty gnarly behind-the-scenes featurette for WAR OF THE DEAD for you to scope out. Gnarly in the sense that it has no dialogue, it’s basically a montage of action sequences set to a face-melting metal track. Nothing uncool about that!
Directed by Marko Makilaasko, from a script he co-write with Barr B. Potter, WAR OF THE DEAD (STONE’S WAR) picks up in:
March 1942. Captain Martin Stone leads an American unit on a mission to destroy an enemy bunker; joining forces with an elite platoon of Finnish soldiers; Cpt. Niemi and Ltnt. Laasko. The troops are torn apart by the same enemy soldiers they had killed a few minutes earlier in an ambush. The living dead? Evil forces? Or SS experiments gone wrong?
Andrew Tiernan, Jouko Ahola, Mikko Leppilampi, Samuel Vauramo, Mark Wingett, Andreas Wilson, Antti Reini and Magdalena Gorska (below) all star in the film.
