Towards the end of last month we clipped you suckers with a trailer for the TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON videogame, which stocks shelves on June 22nd. So to get you all lathered up with thoughts of purchase, Activision and High Moon Studios have unspooled a fresh behind-the-scenes featurette for the game that’s just crossed our path. Wanna see that shite? Why sure ya do!
First, let’s reiterate what this bad boy’s about, yeah?!?
WAR FOR CYBERTRON: Features two distinct storylines: the AUTOBOT campaign tells a story of heroism to save their home planet against overwhelming odds, and the DECEPTICON campaign tells a story of an unquenchable thirst for power to control the universe. For the first time in a TRANSFORMERS title, fans will be able to play the game with their friends through team-based online co-op, or go head to head in a variety of intense, online multiplayer game modes. The game features a sci-fi art style that introduces to fans the entire living, metallic world of CYBERTRON, as well as all-new visualizations of the iconic TRANSFORMERS characters in their original Cybertronian forms.

Now on to the featurette below. Listen to Game Director Matt Tieger, concept artist Jim Daly, and Senior Design Director Aaron Archer all talk about the challenges of expanding the Transformers universe, redesigning new characters, creating a fully immersive gaming experience, etc. We also hear from Lead Game Designer Matt Krystek, who assures us this is the Transformers game we’ve been waiting for almost 20 years running.
Of course, it’s not just chatter. We also catch some fresh footage from the game itself, and while I’m no ardent gamer, I can say the shite does look pretty impressive.
Take a peek and tell us what you think!
