You just stared as a psychopath serial killer in three consecutive films in a row, so what do you do to follow it up? Yes, some would go to Disneyland and hang out with Mickey and the others in the notorious underground, but if you’re Tobin Bell, you sign up to star in a different kind of horror movie… for kids!
Bell, who’s played Jigsaw in the SAW movies back to back to back, signed up star in a new R.L. Stine adaptation entitled THE HAUNTING HOUR-VOL. 1: DON’T THINK ABOUT IT, alongside Emily Osment (yep, sister to Haley Joel). The flick is a direct-to-DVD feature through Universal Studios Home Entertainment, which will be producing an entire string of R.L Stine STD’s for ‘young adults’ over the next few years.
Yep- horror for young adults, which really means horror for kids whose parents won’t let them watch true and blue R rated horror movies. Sucks to be them, but as Bell stars, it can’t be that bad, right? Actually, yeah… it probably can. DON’T THINK ABOUT IT goes like this: [This] story is about a girl who moves into a new neighborhood and begins to terrorize those around her with practical jokes. One of the jokes inevitably goes awry, causing GOOSEBUMPS-type terror to ensue.
Wow, I can’t fricking wait for that. Directed by Alex Zamm, best known for his mad directing skills in INSPECTOR GADGET 2, filming began a few weeks back and is looking for a Halloween DVD release. So if Bell ends up not returning for SAW IV, you can rest assured that you’ll be able to check him out next Halloween anyway. Yippee.
