Benjamin Rigby the latest to join Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant

It's being reported that Benjamin Rigby has been added to the cast of Ridley Scott's ALIEN: COVENANT, joining the likes of Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir and Danny McBride. Unfortunately, like most of the previous casting announcements for the PROMETHEUS sequel, there's no word on what Rigby's role will be in the movie.

Rigby is a relative newcomer who has mostly appeared in short films such as GREEN EYED and STATIC, but he did appear in the 2015 Australian post-apocalyptic horror flick PLAGUE, and plays a waiter in the upcoming Weinstein release LION, starring Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara and Dev Patel.

Specific plot details for ALIEN: COVENANT are being kept under wraps, but we do know that Fassbender will reprise his role as David the android, while Waterston has been cast in the lead role.

Synopsis:

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

ALIEN: COVENANT will head into production next month for its August 4, 2017 release.
