We heard from the folks behind BEOWULF AND GRENDEL this weekend and they dropped the good news that the flick will release wide in Canada on March 10, 2006. I’m sharing an excerpt of the email they sent because it sounds kick ass and I suck at paraphrasing.
This incarnation of the literary classic stars Gerard Butler, Stellan Skargard, Sarah Polley and Tony Curran. Yep…its a bloodsoaked tale of loyalty and angst, with a side of humor and a few beheadings to boot. Filmed entirely in Iceland- by director Sturla Gunarsson,this film is both serious and a hoot….with a terrific screenplay by Andrew Rai Berzins. Chain mail, swords,sex, and trolls…whats not to cozy up to???
