Hey guys and dolls! The
DEADEN
reviews have finally started kicking in hardcore and thus far I’m happy to see
that people are “getting” the film. Over the last 2 weeks, we saw reviews over
at
DREAD CENTRAL and
BLOODY DISGUSTING, now another one just
popped up at
BEYOND HOLLYWOOD.
Here’s an excerpt
from it:
Directed by Christian Viel (“Samhain”)
in what I assume is high-definition digital, and fastened with a low budget and
a no-name cast, you’d be surprised just how effective “Deaden” manages to be.
Although by no means a horror film, “Deaden” certainly would qualify, if just on
the criteria of reckless bloodletting alone.
But Rane is no avenging ghost, he’s
simply a very pissed off ex-cop with a death wish. Harry Callahan and Paul
Kersey should definitely avoid this guy if they came across him in a dark alley.
I mean, come on, the guy is walking around with half of a crossbow bolt lodged
in his brain. Tell me that’s not hardcore.

UPDATE:
Director/Editor Patrick Luissier
(White Noise 2 / Scream) recently watched the film, dug it and gave
me this sweet quote:
"Forget Arrow in the Head,
DEADEN is a ballistic missile to the brain. It’s a dark, vicious revenge flick
that makes Death Wish look like The Breakfast Club. Fallon proves himself as
not just a writer but an actor with a genuine passion that keeps you riveted to
the screen even after everything inside you demands you to turn away." – Patrick
Luissier
