Big Hero 6 TV show is coming to Disney XD

BIG HERO 6, based on the Marvel comic of the same name, followed tech prodigy Hiro Hamada and his inflatable robot, Baymax, in an adventure taking place in the city of San Fransokyo. The two teamed up with others sporting high-tech gadgets to take on evil, and it looks like they'll be doing it on a weekly basis from here on out. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Big Hero 6 will be coming Disney XD as a TV show in 2017. The show will be brought to us from Kim Possible creators Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley.

Disney Channel president Gary Marsh:

Our colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios have created a brilliant new world, inspired by Marvel, with vivid, unique characters. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop these characters into a world class animated series — full of fun, action and the kind of endearing storytelling that only Mark, Bob — and Baymax — can deliver.

I know that Walt Disney Animations' BIG HERO 6 has quite the following, so hopefully they do right by the fans with this show. I can't say I've ever seen an episode of Kim Possible, but BIG HERO 6 has all the makings of some fun, weekly adventures. Frankly, I'm a little surprised they're not going the sequel film route, but I wouldn't rule that out completely.

The Big Hero 6 TV show is expected to hit sometime in 2017.

Would you prefer a sequel film over a TV show?
