What do you get when you team three of the genre’s top producers with a pair of up and coming directors? Well an indie flick called THE VIOLENT KIND of course!
The producers in question are HALLOWEEN’s Andy Gould and Malek Akkad as well as Jeffrey Allard of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING Joining the trio as far as producing goes will be Michael Ferris Gibson and Jeremy Platt with K’Dee Miller executive producing.
Mitchell Altieri and Phil Flores will be both writing and directing THE VIOLENT KIND. Now Altieri and Flores are collectively known as The Butcher Brothers and already have a few genre credits to their name including the indie gem THE HAMILTONS and 2008’s APRIL FOOL’S DAY remake. While one movie was amazing (THE HAMILTONS) the other… not so much. But regardless of that APRIL FOOL’S DAY fiasco I’m a big fan of THE HAMILTONS so The Butcher Brothers have my blessing!
THE VIOLENT KIND deals with a group of young bikers who find themselves tormented by mysterious and gory goings-on in a secluded farmhouse. It centers on a party that quickly turns wild with a typical biker mix of booze, drugs and strippers but shifts into something the likes of nothing they have ever known including mysterious figures glimpsed amongst the woods, ominous sounds heard and friends found injured.
The Butcher Brothers have already tapped HAMILTONS star Cory Knauf to star alongside the always amazing Tiffany Shepis, Bret Roberts, Joe Egender, Joseph McKelheer and Nick Tagas. THE VIOLENT KIND starts filming this month in Southern California so keep it here for updates!
