Bill Condon officially directing Twilight: Breaking Dawn

Another day, another TWILIGHT story typed up by yours truly.

Earlier this month, we reported that the word on the street was the fourth installment in the TWILIGHT series would be directed by Bill Condon (DREAMGIRLS, CANDYMAN: FAREWELL TO THE FLESH). Well, in a press release just issued by Summit Entertainment, it’s been made official.

BREAKING DAWN is of course the book where Jacob the wolfboy falls in love with Edward and Bella’s psychic baby, soooo… maybe it’s the one TWILIGHT movie we can agree might be worth a peek, based on the sheer weirdness factor alone.

“Bringing Stephenie Meyer’s BREAKING DAWN to the screen requires a graceful and intelligent hand and we believe Bill Condon is exactly the right steward, having shown equal and abundant talents of immense creativity and subtle sensitivity,” said Erik Feig, President of Production and Acquisitions, for Summit Entertainment.

Also according to the press release, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN “illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.” I’m sure it does.

Said Condon: “I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book – and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience.”

Enjoy building a bed out of hundred dollar bills, Mr. Condon.
