Billy Crudup, Laurence Fishburne and more join William H. Macy’s directorial debut Rudderless

There are few actors I enjoy more than William H. Macy. Even if he’s only in a film for a couple of minutes you know that Mr. Macy is going to be solid gold for however long he’s in the movie. William H. Macy is currently on the show Shameless (fantastic by the way if you haven’t seen it) but that isn’t slowing him down from working on other projects.

THR is reporting that William H. Macy is getting ready to film his directing debut RUDDERLESS sometime this month in Oklahoma and a nice variety of actors have signed on to the film. Billy Crudup, Laurence Fishburne, Selena Gomez, and Anton Yelchin have agreed to join Macy (and previously announced Felicity Huffman) in the drama. RUDDERLESS is

About the power of a parent’s love, follows a grieving father in a downward spiral who stumbles across a box of his deceased son’s original music. He forms a band, hoping to find peace in the wake of his loss.

Maybe I’m putting a little too much faith in Macy but I think he’s done enough movies and been around enough directors that he can put together a decent little movie worth checking out. In Little Bill we trust.

No release date has been set but RUDDERLESS will probably be out sometime in 2014.
